04186500 Auglaize River near Fort Jennings, OH
LOCATION - Lat 40°56'55", long 84°15'58" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Putnam County, OH, Hydrologic Unit 04100007, (Lat 40.948503, long -84.265973) on left bank 200 ft upstream from bridge on US Hwy 224, 3.5 mi northeast of Fort Jennings, 6 mi upstream from Ottawa River, and 7.3 mi downstream from Jennings Creek. Gage is 660 feet east of junction of State Route 190 and 224.
DRAINAGE AREA - 332 mi².

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 712.99 ft (NAVD 1988). Prior to Oct 1, 2011 datum of gage was 713.60 ft (NGVD 1929). Prior to Oct. 6, 1930, nonrecording gage at same site and datum.

Some diversion from Grand Lake to Auglaize River Basin through Miami and Erie Canal into Jennings Creek at a point 9.2 mi upstream from station. Annual figures of runoff are considered to be within 10 percent of natural yield. Water-quality and sediment data formerly and currently collected at this site. Daily mean concentration and daily mean load records poor.

WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
REMARKS - Water-quality auto samples and manual samples are collected at this station as part of the Western Lake Erie Basin project. An ISCO auto sampler is housed in the gage house. Sampling includes: Suspended-sediment, Nitrogen, ammonia as N (00608), Nitrogen, ammonia + organic nitrogen (total, whole water or TKN; 00625), Nitrogen, nitrite + nitrate (filtered water; 00631), Phosphorus, phosphate, ortho (or soluble reactive phosphorus; 00671), and Phosphorus (total, whole water; 00665).
