LOCATION - Lat 42°26'17", long 89°10'30" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NE 1/4 SE 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.12, T.28 N., R.11 E., Winnebago County, IL, Hydrologic Unit 07090003, on right side on upstream side of bridge, next to the Rivers Edge Campsite, 1.5 mi downstream from Sugar Creek, 7 mi upstream from confluence with Rock River, and at mile 7.1.
DRAINAGE AREA - 2,556 mi².
  DISCHARGE: Oct. 1939 to Sept. 1958 (published as "at Shirland"),
    July 2002 to current.
  STAGE: July 2002 to current.
  PARTIAL RECORD: Annual maximum, water years 1959 to 1971 (published as "at Shirland").
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, satellite telemeter and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 711.79 ft above NGVD of 1929 (711.58 ft NAVD 1988). October 1939 to September 1971, nonrecording gage at site 1.5 miles upstream "at Shirland" (05437000) at same datum. Records considered equivalent.
