LOCATION - Lat 41°26'32.7", long 90°33'19.9" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.25, T.17 N., R.2 W., Rock Island County, IL, Hydrologic Unit 07090005, on upstream side of Knoxville Road Bridge, 1 mi southeast of Milan, and at river mile 1.2.
DRAINAGE AREA - 62.4 mi².

REMARKS - Occasional pumpage of about 3-6 ft³/s from quarry into creek upstream from gage. Accuracy of records is discussed in the annual Station Analysis archived at the USGS IL Water Science Center.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE: Flood of June 1936 reached a stage of 7.4 ft, from information by local residents, and an estimated discharge of 4,500 ft³/s.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE: Maximum discharge, 9,300 ft³/s, April 22, 1973, gage height, 12.65 ft, present datum; maximum gage-height, 15.52 ft, March 2, 2008, ice jam, estimated discharge 2,200 ft³/s; no flow at times in several years.
