  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD -
SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE
  DISCHARGE: December 2004 to current.
  STAGE: December 2004 to current.
SURFACE WATER QUALITY
WATER TEMPERATURE: May 2011 to Nov. 2011 (discontinued).
SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: May 2011 to Nov. 2011 (discontinued).
DISSOLVED OXYGEN: May 2011 to Nov. 2011 (discontinued).
TURBIDITY: May 2011 to Nov. 2011 (discontinued).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, radio telemeter, and acoustic-velocity meter. Datum of gage is 551.76 ft above NAVD of 1988.
REMARKS - Estimated daily discharges determined from a regression relation between present site and the previous site 5.2 mi downstream. This gaging station provides flow data essential to determine Illinois' diversion of Lake Michigan water. A U.S. Supreme Court Decree of June 12, 1967 limits Illinois' diversion to an average of 3,200 ft³/s. Illinois' diversion includes stormwater runoff from a 673 mi² diverted watershed area and water diverted from the lake for domestic water supply, navigation and water-quality improvement in the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal system. Flows recorded at this station also include nondiversion flows. Accuracy of records is discussed in the annual Station Analysis archived at the USGS IL Water Science Center.
