LOCATION - Lat 41°49'54", long 88°02'52" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SE 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.25, T.39 N., R.10 E., Du Page County, IL, Hydrologic Unit 07120004,

on right upstream side of bridge on State Highway 56, 2.2 mi northwest of Downers Grove, and at mile 15.0.

The gage was moved to a temporary location due to bridge construction on Nov. 26, 2024. It is located at the Hidden Lake Forest Preserve. Lat 41°49'32", long 88°03'11

GAGE - Water-stage recorder, satellite telemeter, and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 659.85 ft. above NAVD of 1988. Prior to July 19, 1989, at datum 12.21 ft higher.
REMARKS - Diurnal fluctuation at low flow caused by sewage-treatment plants upstream from station. Accuracy of records is discussed in the annual Station Analysis archived at the USGS IL Water Science Center.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE: Maximum discharge, 1,720 ft³/s, Aug. 26, 1972, gage height, 16.94 ft, present datum; maximum gage height, 17.79 ft, April 18, 2013, discharge 1,320 ft³/s; minimum, 1.71 ft³/s, Sept. 19, 2024.
