LOCATION - Lat 39°57'06", long 89°23'08" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SE 1/4 NE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.2, T.17 N., R.3 W., Logan County, IL, Hydrologic Unit 07130009, on downstream guardrail of 1100E Road bridge, 0.1 mi downstream from State Highway 54 bridge, 2.0 mi northeast of Cornland, 8 mi downstream from Jones Fork, and at mile 12.8.
DRAINAGE AREA - 214 mi².

GAGE - Water-stage recorder, satellite telemeter, and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 555.06 ft above NGVD of 1929 (554.75 ft NAVD 1988). Prior to Sept. 6, 1973, nonrecording gage at same site and datum. Sept. 6, 1973 to Apr. 10, 2010, located at State Highway 54 bridge, 0.1 mi. upstream at same datum.

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD -
SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE: Flood in May 1943 reached a stage of 23.4 ft, from floodmarks, discharge 29,000 ft³/s, by contracted-opening measurement of peak flow.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD -
