LOCATION - Lat 48°21'42.67", long 107°51'46.34" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in sec.17, T.30 N., R.30 E., Phillips County, MT, Hydrologic Unit 10050004, on left bank on U.S. Highway 2 bridge pier in Malta, Mt.
DRAINAGE AREA - 11,654 mi² of which 468 mi² probably is noncontributing.  
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR MT-2013: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - August 1902 to September 1922, October 2012 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 2,250 ft, referenced to the North American Vertical Datum of 1988.
REMARKS - Numerous diversions for irrigation occur upstream from the station. Flow has been increased by water from the St. Mary Canal after 1917.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 24,000 cfs, Apr. 11, 1952, gage height, 22.26 ft.
