LOCATION - Lat 45°00'32.89", long 106°50'09.40" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 NW 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.33, T.9 S., R.40 E., Big Horn County, MT, Hydrologic Unit 10090101, on left bank 1 mi north of Wyoming-Montana State line, 1.4 mi southeast of Decker, 1.6 mi upstream from Badger Creek, and at river mile 200.9.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,453 mi².

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - August 1960 to current year. Records published as "near Decker" May 1928 to September 1938, not equivalent owing to intervening drainage area.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 3431.00 ft, referenced to the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88), from GNSS survey. Prior to 1/29/2025, the elevation of gage was reported in the station manuscript as 3,429.14 ft, referenced to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (NGVD29, levels by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers). In the site file, the datum was reported as 3,429 ft, referenced to NGVD29, interpolated from topographic map.

PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD -
SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: October 1965 to September 1976, November 1980 to December 1986 (observer daily 
samples); August 2000 to November 2017 (electronic records).
WATER TEMPERATURE: October 1965 to September 1976.
INSTRUMENTATION - Specific conductance probe was installed Aug. 21, 2000.
REMARKS -
SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE
03-14-2016 to 11-9-2016 (seasonal record): records are excellent, except Apr. 23-28, Aug. 20-25, 
and Sept. 25 are good; Sept. 25 are fair; and Sept. 26 to Oct. 14 are poor.   

03-25-2015 to 11-19-2015 (seasonal record): records are excellent, except records from Oct. 20-29, 
May 7-10, June 5-17, July 1-9, Sept. 15-21, and Oct. 7-11, are good; records from Apr. 23 to May 6, 
May 11-19, July 10-16, and Oct. 12-21 are fair; and records from May 20-26 are poor.

04-09-2014 to 10-31-2014 (seasonal record): records are excellent, except records from Apr. 25-29, 
May 18-23, June 26 to July 9, July 21-23, and Aug. 23-30 are good; records from Apr. 30 to May 3, 
May 24-27, and Aug. 31 to Sept. 4 are fair; and records from May 4-15, May 28 to June 4, and 
Sept. 5-22 are poor.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD -
SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: Maximum daily, 1,490 microsiemens per centimeter (uS/cm) at 25.0°C, Aug. 12, 
1966, Jan. 11, 1972;  minimum, 161 uS/cm at 25.0°C, May 30 and June 1, 2003 and May 24 and 25, 2006.
WATER TEMPERATURE: Maximum, 30.5°C, July 16, 1966; minimum, 0.0°C on many days during winter.
EXTREMES FOR CURRENT YEAR - SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: Maximum recorded, 867 uS/cm at 25.0°C, August 30, 2013; minimum recorded, 226 uS/cm at 25.0°C, June 12, 2013.
