LOCATION - Lat 47°17'10", long 101°55'31" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.14, T.144 N., R.89 W., Mercer County, ND, Hydrologic Unit 10130201, on left bank 250 ft downstream from Burlington Northern Railway bridge in Zap and 9 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 549 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - DAILY DISCHARGE--March to September 1924, October 1945 to current year.

PERIOD OF RECORD.--DAILY GAGE HEIGHT--October 2000 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder.  Datum of the gage is 1,820.77 feet above North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88) and 1,819.39 feet above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (NGVD29)

March 4 to September 30, 1924, nonrecording gage at site 250 ft upstream at different datum.

October 1, 1945, to September 30, 1947, nonrecording gage 250 ft upstream at diffent datum.

REGULATION.--Flow slightly regulated by Lake Ilo, 56 mi upstream, capacity 7,130 acre-ft.

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage known occurred in about 1902, from ice jam. Floods of February 1913 and March 1943 reached a stage of about 20 ft and 19.5 ft, respectively, from information by local residents.
