06434505 INLET CANAL ABOVE BELLE FOURCHE RESERVOIR, SD
LOCATION - Lat 44°42'03.4", long 103°43'56.3" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SE 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.34, T.9 N., R.3 E., Butte County, SD, Hydrologic Unit 10120202, on left bank 6.5 mi downstream from diversion dam on Belle Fourche River and 2.5 mi northwest of Fruitdale.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1994 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 2,978.74 ft above NAVD of 1988. Prior to October 1994, another station located on Inlet Canal near Belle Fourche (station 06434500) at site 5.6 mi upstream (discharge records are not equivalent because of diversions for irrigation).
COOPERATION - Records of diversion from the canal provided by the Belle Fourche Irrigation District.
REMARKS - Accuracy of records for water years prior to 2014 are noted in the individual Annual Data Reports for those water years. For water years 2014 onward, records good except for Jan. 7-29, 2019, May 8-13, May 16-20, Jun. 12-14, and Sept. 30, 2020, Oct. 16, 2020-Mar. 19, 2021, and June 5-11, 2021, which are fair and estimated discharges, which are poor.  Records show actual diversions to Belle Fourche Reservoir (see station 06435000), from Belle Fourche River and Crow Creek. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Minimum daily discharge, 0.00 ft³/s, Dec. 31, 1995, no flow at times in some years.
