LOCATION - Lat 39°39'13", long 104°51'45" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.35, T.4 S., R.67 W., Denver County, CO, Hydrologic Unit 10190003, on left bank 2,300 ft downstream from Cherry Creek Dam, 2.2 mi southeast of Sullivan, 9 mi southeast of Civic Center in Denver, and 11 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 385 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1730: Drainage area. October 2014: Datum of gage.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 1950 to March 2005, October 2014 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 5,487.51 ft above NGVD of 1929, (Corps of Engineers bench mark). Prior to May 17, 1999, at site 300 ft upstream at different datum.
REMARKS - Water year 2015; records fair except for the period May 13 to July 15, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor. EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum flood known, 34,000 ft³/s, Aug. 3, 1933, by slope-area measurement near present site (Castlewood Dam failure).
