LOCATION - Lat 38°55'29", long 94°27'35" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 NE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.4, T.48 N., R.32 W., Jackson County, MO, Hydrologic Unit 10300101, in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Administration Building at the right end of dam on Little Blue River at Kansas City, 3.1 mi upstream from Cedar Creek.
DRAINAGE AREA - 50.3 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - Reservoir elevation for the period Sep 19, 2018 to Jan 6, 2020, was revised based on a staff plate correction. See the "Reference Marks" element for the date of Jan 31, 2020 for additional details on how this determination was made. 
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Oct 1985 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 0.23 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers).
REMARKS - Accuracy of records is discussed in the annual Station Analysis archived at the USGS MO Water Science Center.   Lake is formed by a rolled earthfill type dam. Closure began Jun 16, 1983. Storage began on Sep 16, 1985. An uncontrolled limited service type spillway 200 ft wide is located at the left abutment. Capacity of surcharge pool 35,370 acre-ft (909.0 ft to 922.9 ft); of flood control pool 24,800 acre-ft (elevation 891.0 ft to 909.0 ft); and of multipurpose pool 22,100 acre-ft (elevation 816.0 ft to 891.0 ft). Lake is used for flood control, water-quality control, recreation, and fish and wildlife enhancement.
