LOCATION - Lat 35°20'50", long 97°03'45" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.14, T.10 N., R.2 E., Pottawatomie County, OK, Hydrologic Unit 11100302, in intake tower near right end of dam, 1/2 mile upstream from South Deer Creek, and 8.0 miles west of Shawnee.
DRAINAGE AREA - 32.7 mi². from automated delineation using 10-meter National Elevation Dataset digital elevation model data dated 10/01/2006 and Watershed Boundary Dataset dated 10/01/2006, using Albers Equal-Area Projection, North American Datum 1983.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR 2012: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October, 2005 to current year, (gage heights only). Prior to February 2017, Published as Shawnee Lake No 1 at Shawnee, OK. Gage originally established in 1957 for planning studies of long-range water supply for the City of Shawnee and operated intermittently during the 1960's and 1970's.

Water stage recorder. Datum of gage is NAVD of 1988, Prior to 05/02/2013 datum of gage was NAVD 1929.

REMARKS -

10/01/2023 - 09/30/2024: records good.

Shawnee Lake No. 1 is connected to Shawnee Lake No. 2 by a canal near the dam. Both lakes do not have the same normal pool elevation of 1067.0. Prior to May 3, 2013 gage datum based on City of Shawnee survey (NAVD 1988).

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum elevation, 1,078.10 ft , May 24, 2015 , minimum elevation observed, 1,059.07 ft, April 10-11, 2007.
