LOCATION - Lat 35°10'05", long 99°30'25" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.15, T.8 N., R.22 W., Beckham County, OK, Hydrologic Unit 11120302, on left bank on downstream side of roadway on State Highway 34, 3.0 mi south of Carter, 10.8 mi downstream from Timber Creek, and at mile 110.5.
DRAINAGE AREA - 2,652 mi² of which 579 mi² probably is noncontributing. from automated delineation using 10-meter National Elevation Dataset digital elevation model data dated 10/01/2006 and Watershed Boundary Dataset dated 10/01/2006, using Albers Equal-Area Projection, North American Datum 1983.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1944 to September 1962. Annual maximum and occasional low-flow measurements, water years 1963-64. August 1964 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1669.19ft  NAVD of 1988 determined by GNSS 4hr observation Survey with Trimble R-10 tied to RM-1 by USGS Personnel on 08/04/2022. Prior to 08/04/2022 datum of gage was 1668.71ft NGVD 1929. Prior to Apr. 18, 2016, same site, datum 5.00 feet higher.
REMARKS -

10/01/2022 - 09/30/2023: records rated poor due to bad stage/discharge relationship during periods of control change.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 53,400 cfs, May 26, 1959. Maximum gage height, 20.08 ft. June 4, 1995, Present datum (15.08 ft. datum then in use). Minimum discharge, no flow at times.
