LOCATION - Lat 33°00'05", long 91°26'17" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Morehouse Parish, LA, Hydrologic Unit 08050001, on private property near right bank 2.0 mi north of Hwy 835, 0.3 mi south of Arkansas/Louisiana state line.
DRAINAGE AREA - 721 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2011 to current (annual maximum gage height and discharge below 3,800 ft³/s only).
GAGE - Water stage recorder. Datum of gage is 79.75 ft above NAVD of 1988. This gage replaced 07367700-Boeuf River near Ark/La state line, which is
located 3.9 miles downstream.
COOPERATION - Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
REMARKS - Due to backwater conditions at high stages, discharge will not be computed above approximately 3,800 cfs at this station. The cooperator uses this gage to determine the state of Arkansas water-rights compliance with the Red River Compact and has not shown interest in determination of high-water flow. Diversions above and below station for irrigation. Interconnecting system of bayous and drainage ditches produces an interchange of flow under varying conditions; hence, the drainage limits were more or less arbitrarily determined. In extreme floods, considerable flow bypasses station. Flow re-enters and passes stations Bayou Lafourche near Crew Lake, LA (07369000) and Boeuf River near Girard, LA (07368000).
