07381000 BAYOU LAFOURCHE AT THIBODAUX, LA
LOCATION - Lat 29°47'52", long 90°49'21" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in sec.117, T.15 S., R.16 E., Lafourche Parish, LA, Hydrologic Unit 08090301, on downstream side of left pier of drawspan of St. Patrick Bridge in Thibodaux, and 2.7 mi upstream from Laurel Valley Canal.
DRAINAGE AREA - Indeterminate.
REVISIONS HISTORY - Minimum gage height has been revised to reflect the datum used prior to Oct. 1, 1997.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1984 to September 1997, April 2002 to current year. April 1966 to September 1984, October 1997 to March 2002 (gage heights only). Unpublished records, May 1954 to July 1957, available in files of the Louisiana District Office, Baton Rouge, La.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and acoustic flow-meter. Datum of gage is 1.25 feet below NAVD 88 GEOID12b EPOCH 2010.0000. Prior to October 1997 datum of gage is 1.22 ft lower.
REMARKS - Satellite telemetry at station. Pumping plant at Donaldsonville pumps total flow of Bayou Lafourche from Mississippi River except for small amounts of storm drainage during heavy runoff. Artificial control weir was located about 1,000 ft downstream from Nov. 5, 1968 to May 6, 2021. About 5.1 ft³/s is diverted daily from the stream above weir for city of Thibodaux water supply.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum daily discharge, 1,530 ft³/s, May 9, 1991; maximum gage height, 9.80 ft, June 7, 2001; minimum discharge, undetermined; minimum gage height, -0.40 ft, revised, Dec. 2, 1966.
