REMARKS -
Note: Due to substantial exceedance of verified rating model conditions, the period of record maximum negative discharge is considered estimated. Records fair.
Diversions above and below station for irrigation.
Satellite telemetry at station
Positive and negative flows at this site are defined by direction and are specified to be parallel to the channel at the gage location.
Direction of positive flow at the gage is west.
Streamflow at this site is affected significantly by astronomical tides. Astronomical tides cause significant cycles of approximately 24.84 hours at this site. Because a different portion of the 24.84 hour tidal cycle is averaged in successive daily (24-hour) computations, a systematic secondary oscillation, unrelated to basin hydrology and having a period of about two weeks may be apparent in daily data published from December 1967 to September 2015.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum positive discharge, 6,280 ft³/s, July 17, 1989; maximum gage height 17.62 ft, Aug. 15, 2016; maximum negative discharge, -11,300e ft³/s, Aug. 13, 2016; minimum gage height 0.79 ft, Nov. 20, 1969.
