LOCATION - Lat 29°47'35", long 95°16'04" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Harris County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12040104, on left bank at downstream side of downstream service road bridge of Interstate Highway 610 in northeast Houston, and 8.8 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 16.1 mi².

GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is NAVD 1988, 2001 adjustment. Prior to Oct. 1, 2009, the datum of gage NGVD of 1929, 1959 adjustment; unadjusted for land-surface subsidence (4.38 ft above current datum). Prior to Oct. 1, 1972, water-stage recorder at site 1,800 ft upstream at same datum (4.38 ft above current datum). Radio telemeter at station. Satellite telemeter at station.
REMARKS - No known regulation or diversions. Low flow is largely maintained by wastewater and industrial effluent. The stage-discharge relation is affected by seasonal vegetal growth during most years. Gage height associated with the historical peak discharge is referenced to datum then in use. Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically.
