08170990 Jacobs Well Spring near Wimberly, TX
LOCATION - Lat 30°02'04", long 98°07'34" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Hays County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12100203, located 100 feet from the right bank of Jacobs Well Spring.
DRAINAGE AREA - Not applicable. This is a springflow station.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Apr. 2005 to current year.
GAGE -

Water-stage and water-velocity recorder.  Satellite telemetry at station.

Datum of gage:  919.037 ft NAVD88 based on a Level 2 Static GNSS survey processed through OPUS, Ref Frame NAD83 (2011)(EPOCH:2010.0000) ITRF2014 (EPOCH:2023.2541) and Geoid18.  The survey was completed on April 3rd, 2023, while occupying a TRM that was referenced to local datum via differential levels. 

Prior to April 3rd, 2023, the datum of the gage was 922.84 ft above NGVD of 1929.

REMARKS - Only springflow from the Trinity and associated limestones is published for this station. Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically.

INSTRUMENTATION - Three parameter water-quality monitor.
REMARKS - Interruptions or periods of missing record may be due to instrument failure, negative values, or data corrections exceeding allowable criteria, which were deleted. Minimum and maximum extremes may have occurred during period of missing record. The turbidity record, for values less than 5 FNU, is rated poor due to sensor limitations. Spikes in turbidity are due to storm events. The continuous water-quality data displayed for this site prior to June 12, 2009 was prepared according to the protocols of the cooperator rather than the protocols (Wagner and others, 2006) of USGS.
