LOCATION - Lat 29°19'26", long 98°48'46" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Medina County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12100302, at downstream side of Farm Road 471, one mile north of La Coste, five miles upstream from Sherer Creek, and 27.4 miles upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 805 mi². of which 634 mi² is above dam forming Medina Lake.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 667.36 ft above NAVD88. Dec 19,1986 to Sept. 30, 2000, water-stage recorder at current site and previous datum of 667.15 ft above NGVD29. Satellite telemeter at station.
REMARKS - Record rated good for WY. Flow partly regulated by Medina Dam (drainage area 634mi) with a spill crest capacity of 254,000 acre-feet. Water is passed through the gates into Medina Diversion Reservoir, with a capacity of 4,500 acre-feet, which regulates the downstream flow.  Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically.
