LOCATION - Lat 35°07'57", long 106°41'06" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Bernalillo County, NM, Hydrologic Unit 13020203, 0.2 mi north and west of the Rio Grande Nature Center Visitor Center and 0.2 mi north of the intersection of Candelaria Rd with the Albuquerque Riverside Drain, in the north valley of Albuquerque, NM.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2008 to October 2016, October 2016 to current year (discharges above 0 ft3/s only).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 4,965 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, from topographic map and Corps of Engineers construction maps.
REMARKS - Water years 2014-2019; records good except for estimated discharges, which are poor. The entire high-flow channel length is approximately 0.6 miles and was constructed by the Corps of Engineers in 2008 as an experimental spawning area for the Silvery Minnow. Flows are controlled by the Rio Grande water surface elevation. This channel is designed to start flowing when the flow in the Rio Grande reaches approximately 1,600 ft3/s.
