LOCATION - Lat 32°52'53.5", long 105°10'41" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Chaves County, NM, Hydrologic Unit 13060010, located on downstream left end of bridge abutment on U.S. Highway 24, 0.1 mi south of U.S. Highway 82, and 5 mi north of Dunken.
DRAINAGE AREA - 583 mi². (approximately)
REVISIONS HISTORY - 06/11/2018 through 06/22/2020 underwent revision due to a datum correction. Peak Stage for the 2019 WY changed due to this datum correction. Prior to April 20, 2023 the datum of the gage was 5290 ft above NGVD29 (determined via topographic map).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1952 to September 1999 (annual maximum only). February 2000 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 5237.75 ft above NAVD88 as determined by a GNSS Level II rapid-static survey performed by the USGS on June 17, 2020.
REMARKS - Water years 2014-2015; records good except for estimated discharges, which are poor. Water years 2016-2018; records fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor. Water year 2019; records good. Water year 2020-2021 records are fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor.
