LOCATION - Lat 32°01'23.31", long 104°03'16.04" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Eddy County, NM, Hydrologic Unit 13070002, near center of channel on downstream side of pier of bridge on U.S. Highway 285, 2.1 mi north of the New Mexico-Texas State line, 3.6 mi southwest of Red Bluff, 3.7 mi upstream from mouth, and 14 mi south of Malaga. Mouth at Pecos River mile 405.6.
DRAINAGE AREA - 689 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1912 to September 1913, May 1914 to June 1915, October 1937 to current year. Published as "near Malaga" 1912-13, and as "near Angeles, Tex." 1914-15.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry. Elevation of gage is 2,900.66 ft above NGVD of 1929 (U.S. Boundary Commission post). Prior to May 1914, at site 3.0 mi upstream at different datum. May 1914 to June 1915, at site 2.5 mi downstream at different datum.
REMARKS - Water years 2014-2020; records good except for estimated discharges, which are poor. Water year 2021-2022; records poor.
