DRAINAGE AREA - 720 mi².
The drainage consists of outcrops of sandstone with sand, gravel, cobble rock, and large boulders throughout. There is little vegetation with only some outcrops of willow, russian olive, and tamarisk in the riparian zone. The main channel is very wide upstream, and the river meanders in new areas after each flood.
