LOCATION - Lat 39°34'08", long 119°43'32" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.27, T.20 N., R.20 E., Washoe County, NV, Hydrologic Unit 16050102, on right bank upstream of culvert crossing Spanish Springs Road, at south end of Spanish Springs Valley, and 2.4 mi north of Sparks.
DRAINAGE AREA - 80 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - The peak streamflow for water year 1997 was deleted on August 30, 2021 as it was likely not the peak of the water year.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Apr. 1992 to Sep. 1994; Oct. 2000 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 4,410 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 from topographic map. Prior to Nov. 1, 1993, at a site in same vicinity, at different datum.
REMARKS - Flow regulated by Orr Ditch, many diversions for irrigation in Spanish Springs Valley. Records fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 1,850 ft³/s, Feb. 1986, gage height, unknown; maximum gage height, 6.47 ft, Jan. 9, 2017; minimum daily, 0.02 ft³/s, Sep. 20, 1992 and June 29, 2015.
