LOCATION - Lat 39°30'47", long 119°42'41" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.14, T.19 N., R.20 E., Washoe County, NV, Hydrologic Unit 16050102, on right bank, 0.75 mi above confluence with Truckee River, and 2.0 mi east of Reno.
DRAINAGE AREA - 244 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Nov. 1992 to Dec. 1996, Jan. 1998 to current year. Records kept by Federal Court Watermaster Jul. 1976 to Sep. 1992. Prior to Nov. 1992, published as "at Kimlick Lane."
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 4,375 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, from topographic map.
REMARKS - Many diversions for irrigation above station. Flow partly regulated by Washoe Lake (station 10348700), Steamboat Ditch, and other municipal ponds. 10/01/2013-09/30/2014: Records fair except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. 10/01/2014-09/30/2015: Records fair except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. 10/01/2015-09/30/2016: Records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. 10/01/2016-09/30/2017: Records poor (extended periods of backwater from Truckee River). 10/01/2017-09/30/2018: Records good except for estimated discharges, which are fair. 10/01/2018-09/30/2019: Records good except for estimated discharges, which are poor. 10/01/2019-09/30/2020: Records good except for estimated discharges, which are poor. 10/01/2020-09/30/2021: Records good except for estimated discharges, which are poor.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum computed discharge, 3,870 ft³/s, Dec. 31, 2005, gage height, 20.38 ft, from rating extension above 1,100 ft³/s; minimum daily, 0.63 ft³/s, Aug. 21, 1994. Flow was likely higher Jan. 2, 1997 at gage height, 21.90 ft, but discharge was unknown due to backwater from Truckee River.
