LOCATION - Lat 37°25'20", long 121°55'35" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in sec.00, T.6 S., R.1 W., Santa Clara County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18050003, in Rincon de los Esteras Grant, on right bank, at transition between natural channel and concrete flood control channel, 400 ft upstream from Highway 237 bridge, 1 mi west of Interstate Highway 880, 1.3 mi west of Milpitas, and 2.3 mi upstream from lower Penitencia Creek.
DRAINAGE AREA - 319 mi².

GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 6.51 ft above NAVD of 1988.
REMARKS - Flow regulated by Leroy Anderson Reservoir, usable capacity, 89,073 acre-ft, and Coyote Reservoir, usable capacity, 22,925 acre-ft, with water diverted for percolation in spreading basins adjacent to Coyote Creek.
