LOCATION - Lat 45°11'01", long 113°53'43" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in sec.06, T.21 N., R.22 E., Lemhi County, ID, Hydrologic Unit 17060203, Salmon quad., on left bank, 1,000 ft downstream from island, 0.4 mi upstream from Lemhi River, 0.5 mi downstream from highway bridge at Salmon, and at mile 258.9.
DRAINAGE AREA - 3,737 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1912 to September 1916, July 1919 to current year. Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1317.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 3,914.99 feet above NAVD 1988. Prior to Oct. 21, 1929, non-recording gage at site 700 ft upstream at datum then is use.
REMARKS - Diversions above station for irrigation of about 83,800 acres, of which about 900 acres are irrigated by withdrawals from groundwater (1966 determination).
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 17,700 ft³/s June 17, 1974, gage height, 8.67 ft; maximum gage height, 10.33 ft, Feb. 7, 1985, result of ice jam; minimum discharge, 242 ft³/s Jan. 8, 1937, gage height, 1.50 ft.
