LOCATION - Lat 45°19'56", long 119°32'24" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.02, T.3 S., R.26 E., Morrow County, OR, Hydrologic Unit 17070104, on right bank, 0.7 mi upstream from bridge on Willow Creek Road, 1.0 mi southeast of Heppner, 1.2 mi upstream from Willow Creek dam, and at mile 1.1.
DRAINAGE AREA - 26.3 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - May 1982 to September 2003, October 2003 to September 2015 (annual maximums only), October 2015 to September 2017 (annual maximum gage height only), October 2017 to current year (annual maximums and gage heights only).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Concrete control since Aug. 24, 1982. Datum of gage is 2,101.52 ft above NGVD of 1929 (Corps of Engineers bench mark).
REMARKS - Diversion for irrigation of about 170 acres upstream from station. Chemical analysis May 1985 to September 1987.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, about 36,000 ft³/s June 14, 1903, by computation of slope-area measurement (see WSP 96).
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD -  Maximum discharge, 288 ft³/s June 2, 2011, gage height 6.11 ft; no flow on many days.
