LOCATION - Lat 58°32'19", long 133°42'00" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.33, T.38 S., R.71 E., City & Borough of Juneau, AK, Hydrologic Unit 19010304, (Taku River C-6 quad), in Tongass National Forest, on left bank, 1.5 mi upstream from Wright River, and 31 mi northeast of Juneau.
DRAINAGE AREA - 6,500 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR AK-98-1, 1987-1997; WDR AK-00-1 1989-90 (M), 1992-95 (M).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - July 1987 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 50 ft above sea level, from topographic map.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Peak of record flow is 137,000 ft³/s at a stage of 45.54 ft. on June 30, 2021.

INSTRUMENTATION - Q.W. - A YSI EXO2 Sonde multi-parameter monitor measuring Water Temperature, Specific Conductance, Dissolved Oxygen pH and Turbidity.  The Sonde readings are checked against a calibrated field Sonde and compared to stream cross-section values at each site visit. After readings are compared, the monitoring sonde is either cleaned, calibrated, and replaced in the stream, or swapped with a newly calibrated Sonde.
