LOCATION - Lat 25°12'02.6", long 80°48'05.8" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in sec.15, T.60 S., R.35 E., Miami-Dade County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03090202, left bank, approximately 3.2 mi east of the West Lake boat ramp, 40 ft downstream of West lake, 4.5 mi upstream of Alligator Creek near Garfield Bight, 9 mi east of Flamingo.
DRAINAGE AREA - Indeterminate.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 2014 to current year.
GAGE - Acoustic Doppler velocity meter with up-looking acoustic stage sensor. Datum of gage is North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88).
REMARKS - Positive flow is towards Long Lake and Florida Bay. The discharge for this station is more affected by wind than astronomical tides. Discharge at wind-driven sites may require a different filter (subtidal) than the Godin low-pass filter. Discharge and gage height records are available in the files of the U.S. Geological Survey. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - DISCHARGE: Maximum positive discharge, 117 ft³/s May 30, 2016; maximum negative, 107 ft³/s Nov. 20, 2020. GAGE HEIGHT: Maximum gage height, 2.24 NAVD88 Sept. 28, 2022; minimum, -1.17 ft NAVD88 May 14, 2018.
