LOCATION - Lat 25°40'01.54", long 80°18'09.23" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SE 1/4 SE 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.11, T.55 S., R.40 E., Miami-Dade County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03090202, at northwest corner of Ludlam Road and Killian Drive, 1.2 mi east of U.S. Highway 1, and 10.5 mi southwest of Miami.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 22 ft. Upper casing diameter 6 in; top of first opening 8 ft, bottom of last opening 22 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 9.50 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: Top of casing, 12.42 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, Sep. 1, 1960 to Feb. 24, 1981; Top of casing, 11.9 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, Feb. 23, 1981 to May. 11, 1991; Top of shelf, 11.7 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, May. 10, 1991 to Jul. 13, 2006; Top of base, 11.68 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, Jul. 12, 2006 to present. Land-surface datum is 7.93 ft (Revised), above North American Vertical Datum of 1988.
PERIOD OF RECORD - September 1960 to current year.
GAGE - Satellite data collection platform.
REMARKS - G-580A (254000080181002) replaced the 100 ft deep, 6 in. diameter well G-580 (254000080181001) in September 1960, after G-580 was destroyed on June 12, 1960. The data for G-580A has been published under the site ID of G-580 until water year 1995 and under both the site ID and local name G-580 for the water years 1993 and 1994. The existing well has been damaged and reconstructed March 1968, February 23, 1981, May 10, 1991 and July 12, 2006. Based on July 2002 soundings, the open hole interval is obstructed at 12 ft below land-surface datum. Measured well depth was 14.9 ft, top of base, on October 2, 2003.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level, 8.30 ft NGVD, Oct. 15, 1999; lowest, 1.18 ft NGVD, June 18, 19, 20, 2011.
