LOCATION - Lat 34°50'52", long 78°01'15.5" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Duplin County, NC, Hydrologic Unit 03030007, 1.5 mi north of Rose Hill, east of U.S. Highway 117 on Secondary Road 1911.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 15.4 ft. Upper casing diameter 2 in; top of first opening 5.4 ft, bottom of last opening 15.4 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 85 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: Unknown - GW WL Clean up, 0 ft above land-surface datum, Aug. 29, 2003 to Dec. 1, 2006; Floor of instrument shelter, 3.85 ft above land-surface datum, Dec. 1, 2006 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - November 2003 to July 2004, December 2006 to current year.
GAGE - Water-level recorder collecting data at 15-minute intervals. Satellite telemetry at station.
COOPERATION - Station operated in cooperation with the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality, Division of Water Resources.
REMARKS - Well is part of North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality groundwater network. Replacement for collapsed well, DU-136, NC-222, station number 345051078012108.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 0.55 ft below land-surface datum, February 7, 2016; lowest water level occurred during periods when well was dry from August 14, 2011 to March 13, 2012.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - September 2003 to September 2004.
INSTRUMENTATION - Tipping-bucket raingage and electronic datalogger.
REMARKS - Gage was operated as part of a U.S. Geological Survey Groundwater Resources Program recharge study.  Precipitation data collected during freezing periods may not be accurately reflected in daily record; consequently, winter record is poor.
