LOCATION - Lat 36°45'57.73", long 76°07'44.51" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Virginia Beach City, VA, Hydrologic Unit 03010205, 40 ft southeast from the northwest corner of Bellwood Estates Neighborhood Park. Owner: City of Virginia Beach.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 197.5 ft. Upper casing diameter 4 in; top of first opening 182.5 ft, bottom of last opening 192.5 ft. Drilled observation water well, screened 182.5 to 192.5 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 5.68 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: TOP OF PVC CASING, INDICATED BY BLACK MARK ON CASING, 2.19 ft above land-surface datum, Jul. 18, 2000 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - September 2000 to current year. Unpublished records available prior to October 2002 in files of the USGS.
GAGE - Electronic data logger and pressure transducer, 15-minute record interval. Feb. 11, 2004 to Sept. 18, 2007, occasional measurement with chalked tape by USGS personnel. April 12, 2001 to Feb. 11, 2004, electronic data logger and pressure transducer, 60-minute record interval. Prior to April 12, 2001, occasional measurement with chalked tape by USGS personnel.
REMARKS - Well is located in Yorktown-Eastover aquifer of Miocene-Pliocene age.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 3.68 ft below land-surface datum, May 9, 10, 2014; lowest recorded, 18.94 ft below land-surface datum, Aug. 28, 2002.
