LOCATION - Lat 36°46'43.39", long 77°04'16.86" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Southampton County, VA, Hydrologic Unit 03010201, in pipeline easement, 720 ft northeast of the intersection of State Highways 628 and 728 and 50 ft west of State Highway 628, along old railroad bed.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 178 ft. Upper casing diameter 4 in; top of first opening 153 ft, bottom of last opening 173 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 67.54 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: TOP OF INSIDE PVC, 2.46 ft above land-surface datum, Jun. 10, 2008 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 2008 to current year.
GAGE - Electronic data logger and pressure transducer, 15-minute record interval. Prior to Sept. 18, 2008, occasional measurement with chalked tape by USGS personnel.
REMARKS - Well is located in Brightseat-Upper Potomac aquifer of Cretaceous-Paleocene age.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 96.39 ft below land-surface datum, June 7, 2016; lowest recorded, 122.32 ft below land-surface datum, Sept. 24, 2008.
