LOCATION - Lat 36°54'10.79", long 76°07'16.39" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Virginia Beach City, VA, Hydrologic Unit 02080108, 0.2 mi south of intersection of U.S. Highway 60 and Baylake Road, at Bayville Farms Park. Owner: City of Virginia Beach.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 90.5 ft. Upper casing diameter 4 in; top of first opening 78.5 ft, bottom of last opening 88.5 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 10.89 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: TOP OF PVC CASING, INDICATED BY BLACK MARK, 1.96 ft above land-surface datum, Apr. 14, 2009 to present. Black mark on top of 4 inch PVC casing, 1.93 ft above land-surface datum.
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 2009 to current year.
GAGE - Electronic data logger and pressure transducer, 15-minute record interval. Prior to January 2010, occasional measurement with chalked tape by USGS personnel.
REMARKS - Well is located in Yorktown confining unit of Pliocene age.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 5.40 ft below land-surface datum, Apr. 4, 2010; lowest recorded, 14.98 ft below land-surface datum, July 29, 2010.
