- For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
- For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.

LOCATION - Lat 37°06'03.97", long 82°40'38.07" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Wise County, VA, Hydrologic Unit 05070202, 1.8 mi northwest of intersection of State Highways 671 and 620 near Pound, at Cane Patch Campground. Owner: U.S. Forest Service.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 198.5 ft. Upper casing diameter 6.63 in; top of first opening 48.7 ft, bottom of last opening 159.5 ft. Drilled unused water well, cased to 47 ft, open hole 47 to 198.5 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 1,665 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: TOP OF SHELF, SUB-GRADE IN CONCRETE WELL VAULT, 1.6 ft below land-surface datum, Jun. 4, 2008 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 2008 to current year.
GAGE - Electronic data logger and pressure transducer, 15-minute record interval.
COOPERATION - Prior to May 1, 2018, records provided by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality - Water Division.
REMARKS - Well is located in Norton Formation of Early and Middle Pennsylvanian age. Water level affected by magnitude 5.8 Mineral, VA earthquake on Aug. 23, 2011.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 29.64 ft below land surface datum, July 29, 2022; lowest water level recorded, 39.76 ft below land surface datum, Nov. 28, 2009.
