LOCATION - Lat 37°11'21.82", long 78°11'44.01" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Nottoway County, VA, Hydrologic Unit 02080207, 165 ft southwest of the intersection of Caulthorne and 2nd Streets and 80 ft south of 2nd Street in Burkeville.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 50.23 ft. Upper casing diameter 8.62 in; top of first opening undefined, bottom of last opening undefined. Drilled unused water well, cased to 50.23 ft, open-ended pipe.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 520.65 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: TOP OF SHELF, 0.50 ft above land-surface datum, Nov. 14, 2007 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - December 2007 to current year.
GAGE - Electronic data logger and pressure transducer, 15-minute record interval.
COOPERATION - Records provided by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality - Water Division.
REMARKS - Well is located in granodiorite and monzonite of the Burkeville pluton of Proterozoic age. Water levels occasionally affected by nearby passing trains.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 13.62 ft below land-surface datum, May 22, 2016; lowest recorded, 19.79 ft below land-surface datum, Jan. 15, 2013.
