  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

USGS Water-Year Summary 2023
372338094052801 Golden City
Ozark Plateaus aquifer system
Canadian Series
LOCATION - Lat 37°23'38.2", long 94°05'28.8" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SE 1/4 SE 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.26, T.31 N., R.29 W., Barton County, MO, Hydrologic Unit 11070207,
REVISIONS HISTORY -
On August 23, 2010 the record from February 29, 1996 to September 30, 2008 was set back from 'Approved' to 'In Review' by M Kleeschulte and a -1.4 ft measuring point height correction was applied to the entire period of record. This was done to reference the water levels to land surface instead of the measuring point which is the reference in the field.
Revisions: Land-surface datum was updated to 1,059.36 ft NAVD88 on May 22, 2023, as determined by a GNSS survey by Missouri DNR. Land-surface datum was previously published as 1,060 ft NGVD29 from a topographic map. Discrete water-level measurements prior to May 22, 2023, are referenced to the original datum.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 1,059.36 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: unknown, 1.4 ft above land-surface datum, Jan. 1, 1937 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - February 29, 1996 to present.
GAGE - Stevens model 7001 digital recorder installed February 29, 1996. October 10, 2000 to present; DCP with telemetry capability and float driven encoder installed as the water level recording and measuring devices.
COOPERATION - Data furnished by Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR); Record from February 29, 1996 to October 6, 2000 furnished from MDNR.
REMARKS -

Furnished record rated fair (February 29, 1996 to October 6, 2000)because no water level measurements are available to verify daily values. This data has been archived by Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) and is not available for verification.

Data from 10/06/2000 to 09/30/2008 has been processed by the USGS with limited field water level measurements (8 measurements) during the period to verify the recorded water levels. This record is considered fair.

Data from 10/01/2008 to 09/30/2009 is good based on 2 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. Data from 09/30/2009 to 10/05/2010 is good based on 5 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data ans is accurate to +/- 0.1 ft. Data from 10/05/2010 to 08/03/2011 is good with the exception of 01/26/2011 to 03/10/2011 which is poor and was caused by the float frequently sticking in the well resulting in missing data. Three water level measurements were made during the period to verify the recorded data and the record is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. Data from 08/03/2011 to 08/01/2012 is good with the exception of 06/09/2012 to 08/01/2012 which is poor and accurate to +/-50.00 ft and was caused by the float frequently sticking in the well resulting in missing data. Three water level measurements were made during the remaining period to verify the recorded data and the record is accurate to +/- 0.01 ft. Data from 08/01/2012 to 02/09/2014 is good with the exception of 06/05/2013 to 07/09/2013 which is poor and accurate to +/-5.00 ft and was caused by the float frequently sticking in the well. The float appeared to fluctuate between 257.00 ft and 250.97 ft. Although the float was moving up and down as it was influenced by the pump in the well, it would stop at 250.97 ft as if its movement was impeded by something at that depth. Five water level measurements were made during the remaining period to verify the recorded data and the record is accurate to +/- 0.10 ft. The data from 02/10/2014 to 08/25/2014 is good based on 3 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.10 ft. The data from 08/26/2014 to 04/08/2015 is fair based on 2 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 2.00 ft.This period was subject to instrument drift that was determined to be caused by a faulty transducer that was replaced on 04/09/2015. The data from 04/09/2014 to 12/01/2015 is good based on 2 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.20 ft. The data from 12/02/2015 to 10/11/2016 is good based on 3 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.20 ft. The data from 10/12/2016 to 09/12/2017 is poor based on 1 water level measurement made during this period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 1.0 ft. On 08/05/2017 the pressure transducer stopped working and was replaced on 09/13/2017. Due to the missing period of record, only having one measurement at the beginning of the period, and the previous history of drift associated with the gage, this portion of the record is rated poor. The data from 09/13/2017 to 03/27/2018 is good based on 1 water level measurement made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.10 ft. The record from 03/28/2018 to 09/17/2018 is good based on 1 water level measurement made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.10 ft. The record from 09/18/2018 to 01/08/2019 is good based on 1 water level measurement made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.30 ft. The record from 01/09/2019 to 06/24/2019 is good based on 1 water level measurement made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.30 ft. The record from 06/25/2019 to 01/14/2020 is good based on 1 water level measurement made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.10 ft.
