LOCATION - Lat 38°02'52.29", long 79°47'27.66" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Bath County, VA, Hydrologic Unit 02080201, 460 ft southwest of the intersection of State Highways 692 and 645 (Katydid Trail) and 270 ft east of State Highway 645 in Warm Springs.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 449.86 ft. Upper casing diameter 8.63 in; top of first opening 145 ft, bottom of last opening 146 ft. Drilled unused water well, cased to 105 ft, open hole from 105 to 449.86 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 2,262.05 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: TOP OF SHELF, 1.71 ft above land-surface datum, Sep. 28, 2007 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2007 to current year.
GAGE - Electronic data logger and pressure transducer, 15-minute record interval.
COOPERATION - Records provided by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality - Water Division.
REMARKS - Well is located in the Martinsburg Formation of Middle to Upper Ordovician age. Well depth originally 1,400 ft, observed to be collapsed to 449.86 ft in October 2007.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 3.39 ft below land-surface datum, Oct. 1, 2016; lowest recorded, 9.08 ft below land-surface datum, Sept. 3, 2011.
