  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

USGS Water-Year Summary 2024
401733075171401 MG 917
Early Mesozoic basin aquifers
Brunswick Formation
LOCATION - Lat 40°17'33.8", long 75°17'12.0" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Montgomery County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 02040201, at North Penn Water Authority at Lansdale.
REVISIONS HISTORY - Jan 8, 2020: Multiple periods from March 2017 - July 2019 were removed from record when a repair to the well casing confirmed that intense rain events within that period caused rises in the recorded ground-water levels. The rises were deemed invalid and not representative of the natural water level table. Extremes for period-of-record were also revised based on this change.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 500 ft. Upper casing diameter 8 in; top of first opening 40 ft, bottom of last opening 500 ft. Drilled observation well, cased to 40 ft, open hole.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 345 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: top of plywood shelf;08/01/1997;3.39 ft above land-surface datum, Jun. 1, 1971 to present, 3.39 ft above land-surface datum, Jun. 1, 1971 to present. Elevation of land surface is from Lidar.
PERIOD OF RECORD - August 1997 to current year.
GAGE - Data collection platform with 15-minute recording interval since April 2023; prior, 60-minute recording interval. Satellite telemetry at station.
COOPERATION - Site maintained in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Geological Survey.
REMARKS - Daily mean water levels are available for this well for the period of record. For some years, daily minimum and daily maximum water levels may also be available from the USGS Pennsylvania Water Science Center Office. Since March 2017 the well has become highly reactive during intense rain events. Several sources or possible reasons for the increased sensitivity were investigated. The cause of the increased sensitivity was found to be surface water infiltration through broken well casing. A repair to the well casing solved the problem.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - The extremes shown are extremes of the instantaneous depth below land surface for the period of record indicated above. Highest water level, 5.99 ft below land-surface datum, Mar 8, 2018; lowest, 12.66 ft below land-surface datum, Aug 16, 1999.
