USGS Water-Year Summary 2024
410401112134801 GSL FARMINGTON BAY OUTFLOW AT CAUSEWAY BRIDGE
LOCATION - Lat 41°03'59.63", long 112°13'48.92" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Davis County, UT, Hydrologic Unit 16020310, near west end of Antelope Island State Park causeway, about 9 miles west-southwest of Syracuse .
DRAINAGE AREA - Not determined.
REVISIONS HISTORY - Discharge for the period Mar. 20, 2020 to Feb. 24, 2021, was revised on March 21, 2022 based on changes to the index-velocity rating.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2003 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and acoustic velocity meter. Datum of gage is 4,192.41 ft. above NAVD of 1988 from a Level II GNSS survey conducted on October 18, 2023.
REMARKS - Records poor. Flow between Farmington Bay and Great Salt Lake is mainly controlled by the water surface elevation of Great Salt Lake (GSL) near the causeway bridge, but flow is also affected by wind. Under calm conditions, flow generally occurs from Farmington Bay to GSL. Depending upon the wind velocity, flow at the causeway bridge can increase from Farmington Bay into GSL, or reverse (flow occurs from GSL into Farmington Bay) which is represented by negative discharges.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum daily discharge, 1,620 ft³/s, May 31, 2011; minimum daily discharge, -2,710 ft³/s, Jun 7, 2007. No flow recorded in either direction July 10-11, 2022.
