LOCATION - Lat 41°35'35.28", long 72°25'35.12" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Hartford County, CT, Hydrologic Unit 01080205, in southwest corner of field about 25 ft east of 4H Camp road at sharp turn to the west, which is about 1,000 ft southeast of South Rd., Marlborough; Moodus quadrangle.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 16.5 ft. Upper casing diameter 2 in; top of first opening 14.6 ft, bottom of last opening 16.52 ft. Augered, unused, water-table well, PVC casing.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 257.6 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: Black mark on top of PVC, 2.5 ft above land-surface datum, Jan. 1, 1986 to present; Black mark on top of PVC, 260.1 ft above land-surface datum, Sep. 20, 2016 to present. Prior to September 20, 2016, land-surface datum was reported as 255 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, from topographic map.
PERIOD OF RECORD - January 1986 to current year.
GAGE - Prior to September 1991 measurements made monthly; September 1991 through September 1993 measurements made with a chalked tape by State Natural Resources Center personnel; October 1993 through September 1994 measurements made biweekly with a chalked tape; October 1994 through September 1996 measurements made biweekly with an electric tape; October 1996 to current year measurements made monthly or bimonthly with an electric tape. Submersible pressure transducer/data logger June 9, 1999 to current year, collects 1-hour water-level data. All measurements since October 1993 made by USGS personnel.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level measured, -0.50 ft below land-surface datum (recorded), March 30, 2010; lowest water level measured, 12.56 ft below land-surface datum (measured) November 28, 2016.
