LOCATION - Lat 41°48'30.72", long 72°17'31.58" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Tolland County, CT, Hydrologic Unit 01100002, 0.4 mi east of intersection of State Routes 44 and 32. On Rt. 44, right turn into old Mansfield Training School facility, at the rear of the USGS BG (Branch of Geophysics) office, under a locking 10 in. steel riser at woods line of office building, Mansfield; Coventry quadrangle.
- Revisions: Water level data were determined to be invalid and removed from the data set for the period Mar. 6, 2011 to Mar. 14, 2011. In addition, the highest water level for the Period of Record was incorrectly reported as 3.28 ft. below land surface, Mar. 7, 2011 and was revised to 9.43 ft. below land surface, Mar. 31, 2010. These revisions were made on Feb. 21, 2020.
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 444 ft. Upper casing diameter 6 in; top of first opening undefined, bottom of last opening undefined. Bored, unused, water-table well, PVC casing 30.8 ft to bedrock, open hole.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 514.76 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: TOC PVC at black mark, 1.0 ft above land-surface datum, Nov. 25, 2002 to present; TOC PVC at black mark, 515.76 ft above land-surface datum, Sep. 12, 2016 to present. Prior to September 12, 2016, land-surface datum was reported as 500 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, from topographic map.
PERIOD OF RECORD - February 28, 2002 to current year.
GAGE - Submersible pressure transducer/data logger Feb. 22, 2002 to current year, collects 1-hour water-level data. As of Oct. 2017 collects 5-minute data. All measurements made with an electric tape by USGS personnel. Satellite telemetry at station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level measured, 9.43 ft below land surface, Mar 31, 2010 (recorded); lowest water level measured, 23.75 ft below land-surface datum, Nov. 6, 2007 (recorded).
