LOCATION - Lat 43°27'41.86", long 70°22'54.12" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, York County, ME, Hydrologic Unit 01060002, at mouth of Saco River, 4.8 miles downstream of U.S. Route 1, at Camp Ellis.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,700 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - GAGE HEIGHT: April 2016 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is at North American Vertical Datum of 1988.
REMARKS - Gage height affected by ocean tides. Gage-height data are measured down from the pier deck and not using historical methods from the water pressure above a defined point in the river. Therefore, water level data will read higher when ice is present on the water surface. Gaps in record indicate missing data.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum recorded gage height, 8.10 ft, Jan. 4, 2018; minimum recorded gage height, -7.64 ft, Jan. 5, 2018.
