50049100 RIO PIEDRAS AT HATO REY, PR
LOCATION - Lat 18°24'34.38", long 66°04'09.60" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, San Juan Municipio, PR, Hydrologic Unit 21010005, at bridge on Avenida Piñeiro near Luis A. Ferre Expressway (PR-52) and 0.8 mi (1.3 km) southwest of Hato Rey.
DRAINAGE AREA - 15.2 mi². (39.4 km2).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 17, 1970 to December 1987; discharge measurements only, February 29, 1972 to December 1982; maximum discharge only. February 29, 1972 to February 26, 1973, January 26, 1988 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, crest-stage gage, and satellite telemetry at station. Datum of gage is -0.4 ft. (-0.1 m) above Puerto Rico Vertical Datum of 2002 (PRVD02). Elevation or datum was previously reported as 16 ft. (5.00 m) above mean seal level and NGVD 29 and was established via topographic map and a new GNSS survey was used to establish a PRVD02 datum because the topographic map datum did not meet the new accuracy requirements.
REMARKS - Mean daily discharge affected by sewage discharges, approximately 2.0 ft³/s (0.06 m3/s), entering stream approximately 20 ft (6 m) upstream from gaging station.
