LOCATION - Lat 64°44'54", long 147°15'17" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 NW 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.13, T.2 S., R.2 E., Fairbanks North Star Borough, AK, Hydrologic Unit 19080306, (Fairbanks C-1 NW quad) Fairbanks Meridian, Well located approximately 30 ft southeast of intersection of Nelson Rd and Lyle Rd, North Pole.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 17.9 ft. Upper casing diameter 2.00 in; top of first opening 12.6 ft, bottom of last opening 17.6 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 497.94 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: Levels for period, 3.17 ft above land-surface datum, May 6, 2015, to Oct. 6, 2015; Levels for period, 3.18 ft above land-surface datum, Oct. 7, 2015, to May 23, 2016; Levels for period, 3.33 ft above land-surface datum, May 24, 2016, to Oct. 20, 2016. A correction factor of +3.14 ft is required to obtain land-surface datum in North American Vertical Datum of 1988 Geoid 99.
PERIOD OF RECORD - July 2001 to current year. Does not include winter record after October 2006.
GAGE - Intermittent measurements by USGS personnel July 2001 to current year; submersible pressure transducer/electronic datalogger from October 12, 2001 to current year.
REMARKS - Observation well drilled April 8, 1995 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and designated as DSAP-6. Water levels may be affected from regulation of the Chena River by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during periods of high flow.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level measured, 6.76 ft below land-surface datum, August 21 and 22, 2016; Lowest water level measured, 10.91 ft below land-surface datum, April 16, 2014.
