07145500 NINNESCAH RIVER NEAR PECK, KS
LOCATION - Lat 37°27'25.07", long 97°25'24.80" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in sec.10, T.30 S., R.1 W., Sumner County, KS, Hydrologic Unit 11030016, on right bank at downstream side of county highway bridge, 3.0 mi southwest of Peck, and at mile 31.6.
DRAINAGE AREA - 2,129 mi² of which 344 mi² probably is noncontributing.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1117: Drainage area. WSP 1211: 1944(M). WSP 1241: 1944, 1945(M), 1947-48(M).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1937 to current year. Prior to April 1938 monthly discharge only, published in WSP 1311.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. The datum of the gage is 1,223.36 ft. above msl. (NAVD88) (Static survey,OPUS-RS) Previous datum was 1,222.38 ft above NGVD of 1929 (levels by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers). Prior to Feb. 4, 1939, non-recording gage at present site and datum.
REMARKS - Flow partially regulated since 1964 by Cheney Reservoir (station 07144790). Satellite telemeter at station.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of June 9, 1923, reached a stage of 26.4 ft from floodmark, discharge, about 70,000 ft³/s.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD -

The flood of May 17, 1957 reached a stage of 21.85 ft., discharge 38,200 cfs.

The flood of Oct. 11, 1985 reached a stage of 21.33 ft., discharge 34,800 cfs.

The flood of Sept. 10, 2016 reached a stage of 22.99 ft., discharge of 40,300 cfs.
