LOCATION.--Lat 40°52'22.2", long 72°52'32.8" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Suffolk County, NY, Hydrologic Unit 02030202, at Brookhaven National Laboratory, northeast corner of Thomson Road and Forth Avenue, Upton.
WELL CHARACTERISTICS.--Depth 962 ft. Upper casing diameter 4 in; top of first opening 952 ft, bottom of last opening 962 ft.
DATUM.--Land-surface datum is 83 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: Top of casing, 1.55 ft above land-surface datum, 84.55 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, Jul. 25, 1949 to present; Top of casing, 1.66 ft above land-surface datum, 86.66 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, Apr. 28, 1999 to Sep. 4, 2015; Top of 4in blue insert, 86.83 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, Sep. 3, 2015 to present.  
PERIOD OF RECORD.--July 1949 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-level recorder installed September 2015; 15-minute recording interval. Periodic manual measurements by USGS personnel.
REMARKS.--Cellular water-level telemeter at station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Highest water level measured, 42.50 ft above NGVD of 1929, Apr. 2, 1979; lowest recorded, 33.75 ft above NGVD of 1929, Dec. 20, 2016.
