LOCATION - Lat 34°26'38", long 88°06'56" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Franklin County, AL, Hydrologic Unit 06030006, gage house located on service road off of upstream bridge, 0.75 miles east of CR 35 and Hwy 24 junction, 1.5 miles east of Red Bay, AL and at mile 61 .9. In NEk sec. 21, T. S. , 15 w. 
DRAINAGE AREA - 263 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - August 1913 to May 1920, prior to October 1918 monthly discharge only, published In WSP 1306. July 1958 to September 1967. October 1967 to September 1968 (annual maximum only) . March 1969 to September 30, 1981. November 30, 2016 to current period.
GAGE - Data collection platform. Datum of Gage is 506.68 ft above NAVD of 1988 (Reference Frame NAD_83 (2011) (EPOCH:2010.0000) GEOID18).  Prior to Sept 2023 the Datum of gage is 506.57 ft. NAVD 88.
COOPERATION - Gage is operated in cooperation with TVA.
REMARKS -

Flow partially regulated by Bear Creek Reservoir, 13.3 mi upstream. Record is generally rated fair.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 34,800 ft³/s, gage height, 17.62 ft. March 17, 1973 from extended rating; minimum daily discharge, 10 ft³/s, August 15-17 and September 17, 1918.
